You can now look at calendar and announcement information from the SHS Band website on your favorite social networking site, iGoogle home page or any RSS feed reader!

This means you can have the important information from the website delivered to the home page you visit most frequently.  Over the next few weeks we'll get specific directions for the most common RSS readers and post them here.  If yours isn't posted, send us an e-mail and we'll try to get the directions for you.  We currently have instructions available for the following:

How do I setup an RSS feed on my iGoogle home page?

• Click Add Stuff from your iGoogle home page
• In the Search for gadgets box enter "rss reader" and click Search
• Find RSS Reader+ and click Add it now.  There are many rss readers available in iGoogle. After trying several of them I found this one to be the best for displaying the information from our website.  You are welcome to use any other reader you want.
• Click Back to iGoogle Home.  You should now see RSS+ with a default news feed on your home page.
• On the RSS gadget click the down arrow and then Edit Settings
• Enter the RSS URL (from above) in the RSS feed box
• Pick the number of items you want to show
• Pick a font size.  I find 8 works well with the other gadgets I have on my home page but you can experiment with this.
• Check "Reload feed every time gadget is initialized ..."  This makes sure you always have the latest information.
• Click Save
• You should now see the information for the URL you selected in the gadget!
